What Lever Gun?

"Hmm. Have you got quite enough ARs for a village parson I wonder?" asked one of the many international readers of this popular mind blog and I have to say, good point.

That in mind, there's not a single lever gun in the Compound's armory, which is clearly wrong. So the question is, which rifle to get and what caliber?

I know, I know. What'll you be using it for, so-called LSP? Well, apart from hunting bear and monster hogs (45/70), mostly for fun at the range and as a handy truck gun when driving through the badlands of Ice Age Texas.

All advice welcome,

It's Bushcraft Wednesday!

You're thinking that bushcraft doesn't involve tractors. But what happens when your dogsled breaks down, your horse is sick, the buffalo's run off and you have to get out of the woods, out of the bush?

And let's not forget, the bush can be a hostile environment, it's best to go armed. Some prefer Glocks.

Enjoy the infovideo.

It's Bushcraft Wednesday!

In our complex and artificial society, some would call it an anti-society, it's easy to lose track of the way things really are, it's easy to get out of tune with nature. That's where Bushcraft steps in.

Bushcraft is all about doing it yourself, in the bush, in the woods; it's about getting back to nature and rediscovering your connection to the way things really are, without modern conveniences like shopping malls and the Nanny State.

Being able to read the signs of the woods is a part of this rediscovery, and here at the Compound we hope you find this infovideo as helpful as we do.

Bushcraft Wednesday!

Maybe you're so focused on the potential for World war III breaking out in Syria, or the Race For Raqqa, that you've forgotten about bushcraft.

Time to end that amnesia. Part of surviving in the wild means surviving in the wild. So here's a helpful video to drum that point home.

Uzi.
